What is Adoration? Is Adoration something new? Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is not something new. It is a centuries old practice rooted in an essential teaching of Catholic Christianity. Jesus Christ is truly and completely present in the Eucharist. Adoration is an exercise of devotion in which continuous prayer is made before the exposed Blessed Sacrament. Pope John Paul II stated: “The Church and the world have a great need of Eucharistic worship. Jesus waits for us in the Sacrament of Love. Let us be generous with our time in going to meet Him in Adoration and in contemplation that is full of faith.” Adoration is for everyone – Bring your husband, bring your wife, bring your children, bring your brothers and sisters, and invite your Ministry Group and attend together. Like the practice of the earliest Christians, Adoration can keep us connected to our community’s celebration of the Eucharist. Please come and celebrate Adoration with your brothers and sisters of faith. Be with Jesus for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or one hour.
Adoration for Santa Sophia Parish is also held every fourth Saturday of the month, 5:30 – 6:30 pm, following the 4:30 pm Mass.
