Claire La Voie Passes Away

Claire T. La Voie (79), of Spring Valley, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 12, 2017 surrounded by family.  She was the wife of the late Charles E. La Voie. Claire was born in Leominster, Massachusetts to George & Alice Vigneault.

She is survived by her children: Renée, Charles and Mark (Barbara) La Voie of Spring Valley, CA. Sisters: Pauline (Raymond) Meisgeier of Bonney Lake, WA. and Pauline (Ameur) La Voie-Belmedani in Somerset, MA. Grandchildren: Patrick Dill, Michael and Ahyomi Cornns, Krista Mathison, Kayla (Dawn) Latter, Ashley (Miles) Christensen, Ashley, Shonna, Charles E., and Mark T. La Voie. Great Grandchildren: Sofiya Cornns, Markus Mathison, Jason & baby boy Christensen, and her Great-Aunt Fernande Desilets of Leominster, Massachusetts. Always a part of the family are Cruz, Lilia, Hector, Berenice and Christian Alvarez.

Claire served in the U. S. Navy for two years. She kept busy by serving with the Santa Sophia Women’s Guild. She also loved walking, swimming, playing bunco & keno, traveling & enjoying Friday evening fish fries at the VFW hall on Federal Blvd where she was honored to be a lifetime member.

Her family & friends considered her spunky, strong willed and a true survivor. They loved her big bright smile.

Services will be held on Wednesday, March 8 at Santa Sophia Catholic Church at 10 AM in Casa de Oro where she was a longtime parishioner.

Claire’s ashes will be interned with her husbands at Miramar National Cemetery after a full military honor guard ceremony.
