CANCELLATIONS DUE TO CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC UPDATED 3/13/2020

The following liturgies or parish events have been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic:

All public celebrations of weekday and weekend Masses – Diocese of San Diego are cancelled effective Mon, Mar 16, until further notice.

All Catholic schools and Religious Education/Faith Formation classes – Diocese of San Diego are cancelled effective Mon, Mar 16, until further notice.

All Lenten Penance Services – Diocese of San Diego are cancelled effective Mon, Mar 16, until further notice.

All meetings at Santa Sophia Parish are cancelled effective Mon, Mar 16, until further notice

PLEASE NOTE:

Santa Sophia church will be open for three hours starting Monday March 16, 2020 from 9:00 am to 12:00 Noon for individual prayer and exposition of the Blessed Eucharist on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Anyone in attendance should be six feet apart from other people.

  • Effective Mar 13, at the direction of Bishop McElroy, all Catholics in the Diocese of San Diego are dispensed from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass during the coming weeks.
  • The Diocese of San Diego will be providing video-streamed Sunday Masses celebrated by priests and bishops of our diocese in English, Spanish and Vietnamese every week. Parishioners can access these celebrations by linking to the diocesan website starting Sun, 15 Mar.
