A letter from Father Devdas: June 9, 2020

Dear Parishioners,

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We just completed two weekday Masses. It was well attended, and I am happy to see you all back. I thank everyone, especially those who attended Mass in the morning, for their understanding and cooperation. It was not easy with social distancing, but of course, you all understood the purpose, which is to celebrate Mass and receive the Holy Eucharist.

With regard to Sunday Masses on June 14, as some of you might have noticed, we sent the links to sign up via Flocknote on Monday around 10:00 am, asking our parishioners to register. The reservations filled up in just over three hours. I understand that those who could not reserve might be disappointed. I apologize that you could not register. As per the County’s direction, we can accommodate only 100 people per Mass, including priest, ministers, and ushers.

As you know, you are dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and other holy days of obligation. Therefore, I encourage you to attend a weekday Mass. During the last couple of days, the weekday Masses were not full and looking at the attendance, I believe we can accommodate 20 more people for daily Mass. I encourage you to make use of this opportunity until more people can attend Mass.

Next weekend, June 20-21, we will have four Masses. We will reopen the Saturday evening Mass. It will give an opportunity to more people to reserve and attend Mass. For weekend Masses, June 20-21, we will send out the links via Flocknote to make reservation on Monday, June 15, around 10: 00 am. Please keep an eye on our posting. Please know that we will try to send via Flocknote the reservation link every Monday around 10:00 am, prior to the weekend Mass.

Again, if you have not yet registered for Flocknote, I encourage you to sign up for Flocknote. This is the method we use to notify you when reservations are available. If you do not have access to the Internet or require assistance, you may come to the parish office during regular office hours, to see either PJ, our office assistant, or Bob Ulrich, our business manager, they can assist you. Please note, we will not be able to take reservations for Mass over the phone, by mail or text message.

With prayers and blessings,

Fr. Devdas
