Mission or goal The Common Ground Collaborative serves the children and families of our local La Mesa-Spring Valley School District. Our goal is to assure that students have the best opportunity to succeed. Common Ground provides for emergency food, clothing and housing needs of children facing acute needs. We also provide books to establish and build home libraries, and we provide snacks for annual testing periods. One of our most important missions is placing volunteers to help at school with reading, math and arts-crafts assistance in the classrooms. We have five partner schools, selected because of their needs - Kempton, La Presa, Bancroft, Highlands and Avondale.
