celebrates our 50th Anniversary on October 10, 2006

This Jubilee year will be one of celebration, reflection and renewed commitment to the missions of our Parish Community. We will update this page as our "Calendar of Events" are confirmed.

There are many ways for each of our parishioners to contribute to this Jubilee Celebration. If you wish to make a monetary contribution, or get involved in any of the following activities, please call Mrs. Patricia Payne at 619-670-4956 or email: patriciacapritta@aol.com.

Volunteers are needed throughout our Jubilee Year:

Many activities and projects planned for the coming year. In order to carry out all of these functions, we are looking for volunteers to help us. The first event will be Jubilee Calendars that will go on sale in mid-November. Other volunteer positions include phone calling, selling items, helping with the cookbook (computer input, sorting recipes to name a few. If you are interested in volunteering, please send your name, email address, phone number, area of interest and type of work preferred. We encourage parishioners to get involved on one of our many activities to be held during 2006! Thanks!

You will have the opportunity to share your thoughts on what the Santa Sophia Community has meant to you and your family over the years. Our historical committee is currently looking for parishioners who would gladly share their story of faith and witness to our community by participating in upcoming liturgies during 2006. In Honor of our Jubilee Celebration, the following events/activities are now taking shape:

Jubilee Memory Tiles
Jubilee Memory Tiles are a great way to become part of Santa Sophia's history plus help us raise money for the construction of the new Multi-purpose Building/Youth Activities Center on our Academy campus. You may choose to have your tile placed at either the Multi-purpose building or at the Preschool. When that construction project is completed, the renovation of our existing EDC/Youth Rooms will begin so that we can relocate our Preschool next to the Parish Office. Anyone interested in purchasing a Memory Tile at $225 each, may call the Parish Office at 463-6629, ext. 24. Blue reservation forms are also located on the side tables of the Church.
